Our Oud Metha student Uditi Sharma codes her path to glory by winning the Women in Tech MENA award in Aspiring Teen category

Women in Tech is an international non-profit organization with headquarters in Paris and chapters in 6 continents, counting over 70,000 members. This global movement is on a mission to close the gender gap, help women embrace technology and empower 5 MILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS by 2030, meeting 5 SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals). Each year the international jury at Women in Tech will reward incredible people in a range of 8 categories.

Uditi Sharma, a grade 12 student of Oud Metha campus was declared the overall winner amongst strong competition from of the five finalists for the Women in Tech - Aspiring Teen Award in MENA region. The ceremony was held on Tuesday, 27th September 2022 at Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park.

Passionate about technology and coding, Uditi started her technopreneurial journey in grade 8 and was selected by the jury as the MENA region winner for her achievements listed below.

• Uditi is the founder and executive director of Elevate Tech, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to empower gender minorities in technology and entrepreneurship.
• She was announced as the winner of Young Female STEM pioneer among the other 15 candidates at the Diversity in Tech Awards held recently on 21st September 2022 at Dublin in partnership with JP Morgan.
• She is the club president at Girl Up Dubai (UAE's largest club) and Coalition. Uditi has spoken at over 25 workshops/panels, including the 2022 Girl Up leadership summit, which included speakers like Malala Yousafzai and Michelle Obama.
• She was named one of Major League Hacking’s (MLH) Top 50 Hackers in 2022.
• She is featured in the Roll of Honor for Diana award.
• She is also featured in Harper’s Bazaar magazine as part of Apple's campaign and Hindu magazine.

Uditi received the award from Her Excellency Ohood Bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and Future and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

Uditi will be competing with the winners of all the other regional events: LATAM, Africa, Europe, America, and APAC at the 5th annual Women in Tech GLOBAL Awards happening in Dubai on 13th October 2022 for winning the global title.
