Most Innovative Award in Samsung Global Design Challenge 2023

The Indian High School, Oud Metha campus is thrilled to announce that its students represented by Team Carton Crew have been awarded the prestigious "Most Innovative Award" in the highly competitive Global Design Challenge 2023 in Project Design Space (PDS). The design challenge provides a unique opportunity to solve problems for real-life clients, including multinational corporations, government entities, and non-profit organizations, for high school students in the GCC and around the world. The clients for PDS 7 were UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) Nestle, Samsung, DP World, American University of Sharjah and Sky News Arabia Academy.

Team Carton Crew comprised Azra Razeen 12 SCI B, Roshni Guha 12 SCI B, Sanjana Jove 12 SCI B, Shalom Mendonca 12 SCI B, Thamanna Geo Mohan 12 SCI B.

Their challenge was to design a new and innovative use for Samsung Eco-Packaging that encourages customers to join Samsung Electronics in reducing waste for a sustainable environment. The winning team embarked on an extraordinary journey to tackle this problem with their unique design solution. Their project not only showcased their ingenuity but also addressed a pressing societal issue in a revolutionary manner.

Another all girls team, MERAKI comprising Elma Ann Oommen (12 Sc C), Githika Saloni Poornalingam (12 Sc A), Joann Elizabeth Byju (12 Sc B), Krishita Sudhakaran (12 Sc B), Sarushna Seerangan (12 sc A) were one of the finalists in the Design Challenge by Nestle to design a new food and/or beverage product using dates as a primary ingredient.
