The Indian High School Oud Metha: Interschool STEAM competition: conquered the stage with avant-garde skills

Trusity conducted an Interschool STEAM robotics and coding competition for school children across UAE to provide an opportunity for learners to showcase their innovative STEAM skills. This competition required school children to apply their knowledge to solve real-world problems and create solutions that make a local or global impact.

Students from The Indian High Group of Schools participated in this competition and the final project presentation was held on Saturday, 11th February 2023.

In the most innovative project category for students aged 11 to 13 years, all three finalists were from The Indian High Group of Schools.

Ann Mary Joseph of Grade 8 from The Indian High School, Oud Metha campus, bagged the first position by showcasing her magnificent skills with her project, BREATHE. To enhance public health and safety using STEAM, she developed a unique scarf embedded with sensors to monitor the heartbeat.

Second position was bagged by Nehan Naseem Ali of Grade 7 from The Indian High School, Oud Metha campus. His project named AIDO, a bio-medical self-reliant robot that assists people in making their daily life better. It can perform multi-tasks like automatic detection of germs and dust particles thus helping in disinfection and sanitization, transportation of visually impaired patients, automated drug delivery, taking physiological parameters etc.

Briyan Dyju George of Grade 8 from The Indian International School, DSO, was awarded as the second runner-up for his innovative project ‘EYES FOR THE BLIND.’ It is a wearable device helping visually impaired people, who use AI to detect and describe the details of the object through a speaker connected to the device.

The Indian High School, Oud Metha campus, won the Most Active Participation Award by submitting the highest number of projects to the competition. The competition received altogether 620 entries from 40 schools in the UAE.
